JSA-KC: HistoryGo to the main pageThe University of Manitoba Japanese Student Association was established after an initial meeting organized by Masami in early 2000 (around the end of the 1999-2000 regular session), and attended by a number of people, including those who would later lead the club as its first executives. During that summer we had one event. During the following regular session (2000-2001) the club was led by Masami, and by the other executives (Rod, Michiko, and Chris), and they were assisted by numerous volunteers. Besides our weekly lunch gatherings, we had a number of successful events, such as our movie nights, joint events and our sushi parties! To wrap up the year we had a year-end bar-bq in King's Park which was extremely well attended. So far this year (2001-2002), we have 2 weekly lunch meetings (gatherings), in addition to our participation in student recruitment days, a movie night, and our very successful sushi party (which was also a joint event).
