This page covers the first tab on your tool options palette for the airbrush, clone, eraser, paint and
retouch tools.
In the upper most right hand corner you'll notice a spy glass right click it and
this brings up an option menu. Seen Below:
In the right hand corner below that you'll notice a brush also right click on this to view options.
PSP has two types of custom brushes that apply like charcoal, chalk, crayon, marker, pencil, pen,
paintbrush, and custom brushes that apply in shapes. You'll notice a custom option click on this to view the custom

Shape
This option gives the shape to the tool.
Options are:
Horizontal
Vertical
Left slash
Right slash
Round
Square
Size
You can change the size of the tip by typing 1-255 (which is the width in pixels), by using the up and down on the spinner controls,
drag the meter bar or press the pop-out button to slide the slider.
Hardness
Hardness is the determining factor of how defined the brush edges are.
Opacity
Opacity is the determining factor of how the color covers the image.
Step
Step is the determining factor of how frequent the brush tip touches the image during a
stroke. At 100% on a brush size of 5 the brush tip colors 5 pixels of the image.
When you decrease the step, the less the tip touches the image. The outline will
become less noticeable and the strokes area smoother and more dense.
Density
Density is the determining factor of how much color will apply to the image.
Build up Brush
Build up Brush does repeated brush strokes. Everytime you apply color this feature applies more to that part of the image when unchecked the color only applies once
to the area. To use the build up brush check the check box on the bottom of palette two. Clone Brush Custom Brushes
