Times not like now
And times that were alike
Times that made me who I am
Sometimes I want to go back
To times that I cannot
To relive the past
The good and the bad
The joy and the pain
The happiness and the anguish
To see how they shaped me
And how I dealt with it then
You cannot go back
Only in your mind
The past can only be viewed
Through the lens of nostalgia
Images and sounds that reminds us
That invokes times that are no longer
Or times that never were
Times that exist only in our head
That we substitute for times that really were
