Now,
to better complete and refine the image, a new layer will contain the
new lines. It's now a simple matter of tracing your lines (or completing
them, if need be) with the Pencil tool (without any fancy settings).
You'll probably want to use a color that's easy to distinguish from
the base layer. As you can see, I've pretty much just traced Rita's
figure verbatim, since it was the most complete in the picture. I had
to finish Furball's head/face, and put in his arms/hands. |

On
closer inspection, you can see that there is still room for mistakes
at this point. There will be another layer with more refined lines
in the future. For now, you can see that I've overlapped lines here
and there; what's important is that I take the image further away from
the very sketchy to something more usable. The brush type was a simple
round shape, with no special modes (Darken, Screen, etc), or options
(stylus size, opacity, etc). |
