Dallas Stars: 02-08-2003 @ Phoenix Coyotes I made plans to visit my old hometown of Phoenix weeks before losing my job in early February. I decided to make the trip anyway. America West Arena has never been one of my favorite places to see a game because of all the obstructed views but it was just nice to be back in Phoenix. I miss the old Arizona Veterans Memorial Coliseum, where the IHL Phoenix Roadrunners played.

Dallas Stars: 04-28-2003 @ Anaheim
Western Conference Semifinals, Game 3
The Stars went into the playoffs as the top seed in the Western Conference. They defeated the Edmonton Oilers in the first round of the playoffs. It was a tough 6-game series but the Stars had owned the Oilers in recent playoff years. The Mighty Ducks had a surprisingly easy road to the second round, shocking the #2 seed Detroit Red Wings in four straight. Unfortunately for Dallas, it was the year of Jiggy. Jean-Sebastien Giguere led the Ducks to the 7th game of the Stanley Cup Finals, downing the Stars in 6 games along the way.

Los Angeles Kings: 04-02-2003 vs. Colorado Avalanche
Staples Center is a beautiful building and a great place to watch a hockey game. The Kings have built up some good memories in a relatively short period of time. Unfortunately the last two seasons (02-03 & 03-04) haven't been too memorable. I always like to go to the last home game of the season. That's the Kings Fan Appreciation Night, where they give out bunches of prizes and give away the jerseys off the players' backs. I didn't win anything this night but I have won in the past (autographed replica jersey, Total Hockey book).

Los Angeles Kings: 09-21-2003 vs. San Jose Sharks
@ Centennial Garden, Bakersfield
The Kings make their regular trip to Bakersfield for an exhibition game against the Sharks. Even though most of the regular players don't suit up, watching the young guys and fringe veterans battling for a roster spot is always entertaining. Definitely a highlight of the hockey season for me.
