2004-05 Preseason

The 2004-05 Preseason began October 10th with the Annual Open House, the first opportunity for the public to meet the new members and reacquaint themselves with the returning players on the Bakersfield Condors. The event was held at the new Bakersfield Ice Sports Center and featured a meet-and-skate with the players and an intrasquad game. The team was sporting their new black alternate jerseys for the meet-and-skate (though they would not see game action until late December, at MeiGray's behest). They looked very sharp. The new jerseys signaled a shift away from the green that had been the predominant color in Condors jerseys for the past two seasons. Red (rust, actually) would take a larger role in the jerseys. But enough shop talk...

Only three players would return from last season's 25-38-9 club: Paul Rosebush, Jon Mirasty and Todd Alexander. Here's the training camp roster I picked up:

The Condors played an intrasquad game at the Open House and two preseason games versus the Fresno Falcons, Oct. 15th in Fresno (a 4-3 OT loss) and Oct. 16th at Centennial Garden (a 4-3 OT shootout win). On to the pics...
