The Wedding Day

Our wonderful day began at 6am on Saturday, October 24, 1998. My bridesmaids and I spent the night at the Hanford Hotel in Anaheim Hills so we could all get ready together in the morning. We met Ivan, the groomsmen and our families at Eisenhower Park in Orange for pre-ceremony pictures. It was a perfect day as the sun was shining on this crisp autumn morning. We weren't nervous at all; we were just having a great time soaking in every moment of our special day. During our ceremony
Classic Rolls Royce Our ceremony was held at 10:30 a.m. at our home church in Anaheim, Chinese Baptist Church of Orange County. The sanctuary was packed with almost 400 friends and family. It was a bit overwhelming to see so many people there for us, but it was exciting too. Five months of planning and preparation all came down to these next few hours and it was all worth it. I could relax, smile and just enjoy this long-awaited day! Our ceremony was officiated by Pastor William Eng and Pastor Christian Zorio. It was really neat to have a ceremony where both pastors knew us and could speak about us personally. Our friends also provided music: Jen Soo on the piano, Larissa Lam on vocals, and Young Kim and Randy Chiu on guitars. It was a blissful time as Ivan and I said our vows to each other before God and our loved ones.
After the ceremony, we got into our getaway car, a white classic Rolls Royce with blue velvet interior. We sped off to our reception site, The Waterfront Hilton Beach Resort in Huntington Beach. It was time to bustle my dress, put down my bouquet and eat! We also had great fun dancing, cutting the cake, talking to friends and simply enjoying each other. I was in for a great surprise when the emcee had me come down to the stage and sit in a chair. Ivan and the guys replaced their morning suit attire with colorful Hawaiian shirts and put on a spectacular dance and lip sync to "Hot Hot Hot" and "My Girl" for me. It was so sweet, and a ton of laughs! It was such a special day. We'll never forget how abundantly God blessed the first day of our new lives together as husband and wife! A wedding portrait
