My eggs.....

• Ukrainian eggs are made by using a wax-resistant dying process.
• I draw on the designs with beeswax using a tool called a kitska.
• After the wax is applied, I dip it into dye... starting with the lightest color, usually yellow and ending with the darkest color as the background.
• Each color is a seperate step. Some designs take up to 6 to 8 hours to complete.
• The wax is then melted off to reveal a brilliantly colored egg!
• At this point I apply a coating of varnish. Now it's time to blow the contents out of the egg.
• All eggs are furnished with either a stand for display or made to hang upon request.
