Thanksgiving Dinner ~ November 2000 During the month of November, the BSWC will collect canned food and monetary donations to deliver a Thanksgiving dinner to a needy family. Mixed Nuts Comedy Fundraiser ~ Friday, November 17, 2000 The BSWC will host a comedy fundraising event at Mixed Nuts Comedy, a local Los Angeles comedy club. Tickets for admittance will be sold for $10 each prior to the event.
December
Christmas Toy Drive ~ December 2000 The BSWC will co-sponsor with other caucuses in the USC School of Social Work in a toy, clothes, and food drive for needy families in the USC Community.
January 2001
Raffle Ticket Sale ~ Thursday, January 11, 2001 Members of the BSWC will begin to sell raffle tickets for $1 for prizes to be raffled off in March. Student Shadow Day ~ Thursday, January 18, 2001 The BSWC will host "A Day in the Life of a USC Social Work Student" for college students considering attending the USC School of Social Work. Bake Sale ~ Tuesday, January 30, 2001 A fundraising event in front of MRF featuring various pastries for sale.
February
Black History Month Celebration ~ February 2001 In honor of Black History Month, the BSWC will host a display in MRF featuring historical Black figures. Black Faculty Appreciation Luncheon ~ Thursday, February 22, 2001 A recognition Luncheon for Black faculty and staff members of the USC School of Social Work.
March
Candy Sale ~ March 2001 The BSWC will sell candy bars throughout the months of March and April. Brown Bag ~ Tuesday, March 27, 2001 A select guest speaker will present on a topic realted to social work.
April
Bake Sale ~ Tuesday, April 10, 2001 A fundraising event in front of MRF featuring various pastries for sale. NABSW Conference ~ April 2001 Members will attend and represent USC School of Social Work at the National Association of Black Social Workers Annual Conference.
May
6th Annual Black Social Work Caucus Banquet ~ Saturday, May 5, 2001 A celebration and commemoration of the 2000-2001 school year and Black graduates.
