New Enemies Pt. 1
Two months had passed since Raven and Spell Master were defeated. It was a cool, sunny morning; in the midst of a green forest two people played out a beautiful sword dance of death. The two people dueled obviously to the impending doom about to fall onto them.
“Is that
all you got?” a beautiful blond, dressed in an eloquent sapphire blue armor,
asked as she parried another blow from her opponent.
Her
opponent was a handsome man dressed in a light blue outfit, a long light blue
silk scarf covered the bottom half of his face, his long brown hair was pulled
back in a tight pony tail, he wielded a sleek looking katana. He seemed to have
little trouble blocking the counter blows from the lady in blue.
“I just
didn’t want to hurt you,” the man answer, with a hint of a smile underneath his
scarf.
In
little time the duel had ended, the man swiftly disarmed the lady in blue.
“You’ve
improved a lot, love,” the lady in blue smiled as she reached down to pick up
her sword.
“Thanks,
I couldn’t have done it without you,” the man leaned down to pick up the lady’s
sword for her.
“Awe you
are so sweet,” the lady hugged the man.
“How
sickening,” a voice said from behind the couple.
From out
of the thick forest a small black-cloaked man approached the couple, in his
right hand was a long staff with a gleaming red-eyed skull on tops of its hilt.
“So this
is the legendary Silver, and his lovely wife?” the man asked as he peered at
the couple in blue, “You don’t look like all that powerful to me.”
Silver
smiled, “I’m honored you think so highly of me, but I’m far from legendary. So
who might you be, and what business do you have with me?”
“The
name is Crimmn I have been hired to kill you.”
“Well,
I’m sorry to say Mr. Crimmn, you won’t find that an easy task to accomplish.”
“We’ll
see about that.”
The eyes
of the skull on Crimmn staff started to grow bright red. Soon the ground
started to shift underneath Silver’s feet, as bony hands could be seen popping
out of the ground. Two of such hands grabbed each of Sapphire’s ankles,
preventing her from moving.
“Let her
go,” Silver demanded.
Crimmn
shook his head no, “Sorry I can’t have her interfering.
The hand
continued to rise, until there were at least twenty skeletons surrounded Silver
and Sapphire, including the two holding Sapphire captive.
Silver
blinked, surprised at the great number of skeletons, “Is this supposed to scare
me?”
“Scare
you? No. Kill you? Yes.”
The
skeleton’s charged towards Silver.
“You
have to do a lot better than that to kill me, Twin Dragons!”
Silver
raised his hand, producing two snake-like trails of fire. Soon the long trails of fire formed twin
dragons’ heads, as they charged towards the skeletons. One by one, each
skeleton was disincarnated to nothing but dust leaving only the two holding
Sapphire. Silver called off his dragons before the reached the final two, not
wanting to harm his lovely wife.
“Impressive
trick, but it only take me a second to call forth more skeletons,” Crimmn
raised his staff high into the air as the skull’s red eyes started to glow
again.
“I know
more than one trick, Blue Flare!”
Silver
extended his hand producing a bright blue light, blinding Crimmn, causing him
to drop his staff. Silver casually walked over to the dropped staff, and placed
his foot over the skull, threatening to crush it. “Give up, unless you want to
lose your precious staff.”
Crimmn
rubbed his eyes, just now getting his vision back, “Please don’t, you win.”
Silver
kicked the staff over to Crimmn, “Now get out of here.”
Crimmn
picked up his staff and slowly retreated back into the woods from which he came
from.
Silver
rushed over to Sapphire to help her fee from the two skeletons that still held
her captive.
“My
hero,” with a mighty gust of wind, Sapphire blew the two skeletons off of her
and rushed up and hugged her husband.
“If you
could have done that the whole time, why did you let the skeletons hold you
captive, you worried me to death.”
Sapphire
winked, “I like playing the damsel in distress.”
“That
was pathetic,” an arrogant voice said as Crimmn entered the woods.
“I like
to see you do better,” Crimmn retorted.
“Silver
better enjoy that victory for it will be his last; tomorrow Silver will die.”
To be continued…
