 Discovering who I am through Meditation

Each of us has the ability to reach beyond  what is known to us consciously and discover the vast possibilities of the unconscious and spirit.  Deep within us is the  knowledge of how to use our own energy to expand ourselves spiritually. All that is required is an open mind, heart and soul.  The rest will follow naturally. 

Express yourself through your spirit and it will lead you to Enlightenment.   Allow your mind to be open and you will receive guidance from those that are of  higher understandings.  Love with your heart and all will be at peace with you.

Please enjoy the little bit of "reaching beyond" Enlightenment that I can offer.  These are techniques, visions and insights that I have come to know.  Perhaps you have a different idea or vision you would like to share.  Please e-mail me.  I would love to hear them.

 We are all different in that we must choose our own paths towards Enlightenment.  However, we are all the same in that we each carry the energy of the white light and strive to reach our final destination of eternal peace and Spiritual Enlightenment.

 

        

We feel a calling within us yet know not how to respond.  We yearn for something deep inside that we do not understand.  We feel a void in our hearts and souls that nothing  material can fill. 

We live each day of our lives within a society that does not understand how we feel inside.  Though we want to believe what we feel is real, pressure all around us attempts to tear at our hearts and souls to tell us otherwise.

Yet, we remain strong and even more determined to understand what we feel and need in our lives.  Time after time, we cry, want to give up and even nearly do.  But, something inside whispers to us "Remain Strong.  I am with you every step of the way.  Keep the love in your heart and you will know the truth of your feelings."

And then it happens, the void does not feel so vast, we hear a voice of pure energy and understand how to respond and our yearnings become less and less.  We realize what we needed all along was a little Spiritual Enlightenment.

 

Each day that passes for me, I discover a very deep void inside.  Something that no matter what I do in my life, I cannot escape it.  That void produces a depression in my mind and a sadness within my heart.  Nothing seems to matter.  Loved ones just don't seem as loveable.  The hobbies and things I found much of interest become unimportant.  The world around me seems merely a dream.  I, then, fall into a dream state of mind and find myself contemplating my own life, dreams, desires etc. 

Much of what I contemplate is in regards to love, peace and happiness.  Yet, I question, how does one find such things?  Throughout my life I have come to understand many things and have spread my "wings" into various areas of life.  For example:  I discovered music through the flute; peace through nature; wisdom through books, my feelings and  listening to others; joy through caring for all living things; fun through hiking, exploring etc. 

Yet, no matter what I have done in my life, that void remains.  True, I have had many Spiritual experiences while surrounded by nature when hiking, or reading a book, or even within a dream.  Each of these experiences has helped me to become the person I am today and for the most part I know and am proud of who I am. 

Yet, the void remains.  I felt I was just some depressed person in the world that would one day commit suicide.  Noone seemed to understand or even wanted to take the time to understand.  It appeared as though it were up to me to fill that void in my heart and soul.  I began contemplating what would fill that void.  The more I went into deep thoughts, the more the answers came to me.  Here is what I came to understand.

 

What I have Discovered about Myself:

             I am a protector of nature:     I am here to protect nature and ALL living things.  I never hurt living things unless it is to end their suffering.  I have been given the gift of understanding living things.  It is easy for a cat  that has never trusted a human being before to feel comfortable around me.

             I am gifted with insight into a person's feelings.  I usually can look at a person and know what they are feeling whether they realize it or not.  Then, I can take those feelings and help the person to discover the cause of them.

             I am very unique in this world in that my ideas, beliefs and wisdom is more insightful than this world can usually handle.  I tend to upset people often because I believe things differently than most.  For example:  I believe that all life is equal no matter what.  A snail is equal to a human being.  The only differences (main differences) are the physical characteristics and that the snail is not as far "advanced" spiritually, mentally, physically etc as humans are.   Still, the snail comes from the very same energy that created humans.  Because the snail holds the very energy we do, it is equal to us.  We all come from the white light's energy, and while our souls are floating in the light's peace and love we are equal.  Why shouldn't it be the same when we are not floating in the light?

             I am protected and guided by a very wise and old spirit of a higher realm.  I have yet to know who this spirit is, but I often feel the spirit's energy and guidance.  I have seen the spirit's shadow in my mind before and it appears to me as a father would his child.

             Most of my abilities are understood through feelings.  I am gifted with understanding feelings and using them to further understand things.  Much of what I know and understand have come from feeling something deep within myself.  I can sense things through feelings as well.  All I have to do is keep an open mind and the feeling of love and understanding, then things tend to come to me.  Or, perhaps I am looking for someone and cannot seem to find them.  I merely think about the person and direct my deeper feelings towards that person.  Eventually, I am able to "feel" their own energy and follow it to find them.

             I am a very caring and loving person.  I have been told otherwise by nearly everyone from my past because I am so different from them.  However, my spirit guide and guardian angel (my dearest grandfather) continue to give me feelings of love and comfort.  These feelings also carry within them approval and understanding of who I am, what I am doing with my life and that I am on the path that is best for me at this point in time.

How I came to discover who I am:

             Meditation:  it is not easy for a person to meditate.  You must relax and in this world relaxation can come next to impossible.  However, I have discovered a few techniques that tend to work for me.

     To begin, everyone meditates differently.  At first, I expected to go into some deep trance where I was completely unaware of my physical body.  It does not always work that way. 

Different Forms of meditation:

1}     Some people meditate and end up in light trances where they are completely aware of their surroundings and yet focused on the thoughts within their minds.  They can hear all that goes on around them and even sense when someone approaches them.   This meditation is usually good for relaxing mostly.  However, again, there are some that can actually use these light trances to "tap" into their inner selves and the white light.

2}     Some may meditate and go into what I call a more moderate trance.  This is where they are only partially familiar with their surroundings.  They are focused on what is happening to themselves on a more subconscious level.  Here, a person can usually push aside thoughts and images and completely clear their minds to allow more spiritual thoughts and images to appear.

3}    The more deep meditation can bring a person into a complete trance.  They are totally unaware of their surroundings, their body etc.  It is almost like having an out of body experience, and in fact, some people do.  Here, a person can totally tune out their consciousness and allow their spirit to take over.  What happens under this type of trance is entirely personal.  For me, I have gone under this type of trance a few times.  Each time I saw the white light, I felt an enormous amount of energy  and my entire soul just seemed to become rejuvenated.   There would not be a single thought in my mind.  The only thing I focused on is how that light made me feel and when I came out of the trance I felt refreshed, as though someone had literally removed all the negative energies from me.

Meditating and Getting to the Trance State:

Technique #1:        find a room where there is no sound, interruption, etc.  Lie down on your back with your arms placed at your sides.  Close your eyes.  Take several deep breaths, holding each one for five seconds and slowing releasing as you count down to one.  Do this at least 5 times.  Then slow your breathing down.  As you do this, visualize your feet.  Feel them start to fade away.  Feel every nerve relax till you can feel them no more.  Then work on your ankles, legs, and so forth.  Do this for each part of your body.  If you were not able to relax a certain part, go back to it and focus on the nerves relaxing again.  I tend to have to focus on my breathing and relaxing my lungs to the point that I don't feel myself breathing.  Once you are completely physically relaxed, then focus on your mind.  Clear your mind of all thoughts and images.  As you do this, allow your mind to relax and slowly feel it fall into a deeper relaxation.  Soon, you will notice that your mind is falling almost without your assistance and that you are losing control over it.  Don't panic.  What you lose control over physically you gain subconsciously.  Now, you can do what you want to do under this trance. 

Technique #2:       Remain in a sitting position, a comfortable one for you.  Close your eyes.  Place your hands upon your thighs and take several deep breaths.  Relax.  Picture in your mind a white light in the distance.  You are surrounded by blackness facing that white light.  Start walking towards it.  As you approach it, you may notice the light continues to remain distant to you.  Don't worry.  Focus on the light.  Feel it pulsating it's energy towards you.  Start running towards it.  Then, feel your body floating towards it.  As you begin to feel yourself floating towards the light, you may notice a void (or an ocean as I have experienced) and the white light falling into this void.  Your purpose is to catch up to the white light.  Follow it.  The deeper the white light falls into this "void" the deeper you fall into your subconscious.  Eventually, you may notice that the white light appearing to be brighter or you actually getting closer.  This is your mind relaxing falling into a deeper trance.  Go with it.  You may eventually actually touch the white light.  From there it is up to you what you do.

    Although meditation is a great way to relax and focus subconsciously, we cannot always be in a trance state of mind.  There are many hours within the day that we are completely awake and surrounded by negative influences.  I have two techniques to aid with removing yourself from the negative energies that can surround you during your daily day of work, school etc.

Technique #1:    Visualize a place you can go where no other person is.  A place where there is no illness, disease, hunger, pain, sorrow etc.  You do not have to close your eyes for this.  You can easily visualize such a place while sitting at a computer, writing documents, speaking to people.  I would of course not recommend this for anyone working with machinery or dangerous chemicals, etc.  If you can, try this on a lunch break.  The place I visualize is more of my own fantasy world.  Whenever I am in pain, I just think of this place and actually go there.  There is a small sparkling lake where I can see the bottom with boulders in it.  There is grass and trees everywhere.  I usually also see a unicorn and a few fairies.  The sky is almost always blue ( a good rain is refreshing too), and the clouds are thick to walk upon.  I always appear at the lake, having a small picnic, relaxing. 

Technique #2:    Repeat this phrase over and over in your mind, "I am that I am."  You may want to repeat it is continuously until you start to understand what the phrase means and begin to physically relax.  The meaning of the phrase is not easily understood and takes some focusing on it.  When you realize that you are so that you are in this life, you will begin to relax.  Just think about it.  You are physically so that you can be spiritually.  And, you are spiritually so that you can be physically.  Both need each other.  That is only a small portion of the phrase.  You will have to discover the rest for yourself.
