Contradiction In LDS Teachings. Is President Hinckly telling the truth? The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, The Mormons. Soon they will be confronted with the important decision of choosing between the teachings of Elder Bruce R. McConkie firmly established on Jacob 2: 24-30, and the teachings of the seven first prophets of the Church (Joseph Smith included), because only one teaching can be admissible. Brigham Young made this statement on August 19, 1866: "The only men who become Gods, even the Sons of God, are those who enter into polygamy." (Journal of Discourses, vol. 11, page 269) Now in total contradiction Elder Bruce R. McConkie announced: "Mormon Doctrine", Pg.578 PLURAL MARRIAGE "Plural marriage is not essential to salvation or exaltation. ……" See Other Blatant Controversies			Bizarre! President Hinckley don't know all the circumstances under which that statement was made His predecessor President Spencer W. Kimball with whom Gordon B. Hinckley worked in the Church for many years said: "You and I--what helpless creatures are we! Such limited power we have, and how little can we control the wind and the waves and the storms! We remember the numerous scriptures which, concentrated in a single line, were stated by a former prophet, Lorenzo Snow: 'As man is, God once was; and as God is, man may become." Hundreds of times in their Bible, (The New World Translation), they incorrectly translated the Greek synonym for (Lord) to the name Jehovah and hundreds of other times (because it would have contradicted their teachings) they correctly translated the exact same Greek synonym to the name Lord.
