The silence in the room was deafening. The only sounds that

can be heard were the ticking of the clock and the occasional tapping of foot

created by the two persons in the room. Both of them were very nervous since

this is the first time in five years that they’ve seen each other. They just

smiled at one another and made brief eye contact before turning away their gaze

quickly. As if they were afraid of what feelings will be revealed if they were

to stare long and deeply into the other’s eyes. All they could do was to marvel

secretly on how they’ve changed over the years.

The man with the Prussian blue eyes noted how the girl in

front of him turned into a very beautiful woman. Gone was the childish

impulsiveness he used to seed on her face but was replaced by a woman’s serene

feature. Her aquamarine blue eyes still holds innocence but there was a glint

of worldliness on it that indicates she had met many trials and survived.

Meanwhile, the woman in front of the man marveled at how those five years of

absence brought immense changes to him. That hard feature that was etched on his

face was almost gone, save for that perpetual scowl that seemed to stay. But

every so often, she could see that one side of his lips would turn up indicating

a smile. The knitted eyebrows were smoothen and his eyes-those beautiful,

piercing blue eyes- that were cold as ice before now hinted of playfulness and

secrets only him knows.

The silence was broken by a whistle coming from a kettle of

boiling water. The sound jolts them back to reality. The woman couldn’t help

but laugh at the situation. Still chuckling, she walked toward the stove and

turned it off. Heaving sigh, she turned to the man. She saw that there was a

smile on his lips and a smile was already starting on hers.

“So, would you like to have a cup of coffee?” Relena

offered Heero. He seemed to be weighing his option whether or not to accept the

gracious offer. “I make a great cup of coffee,” she persuaded Heero, “Besides,

we could talk on where you’ve been…where I’ve been… and what we’ve been doing in

that 5 years,” Relena finishes, her voice softening at the end.

Heero looked at her. His eyes were piercing her very soul.

He really wanted to know how she had been. Whether she think of him as much as

he thinks of her. Besides, a steaming cup of coffee would be very nice to talk

things over.

“I’d love to,”

Hope you like it!
