Family
- Mammy – Keiki’s mother. She once had a first name, but Keiki sure doesn’t know it. She’s short, with long red and yellow hair that resembles her daughter’s. Keiki absolutely adores her, following her around and always asking her questions. Mammy is very patient, always with a gentle smile on her face.
- Tawhi – Keiki’s father. All his children call him by his first name, for some unknown reason. He’s very tall, with a long spike of bright blue hair (uhh...like another type of macaw, which I would name if I was thinking clearly). He works at the palace in Merele, kind of the head groundskeeper. He isn’t at home much, but when he is he spends most of his time playing with his children.
- Lulu – Keiki’s older sister, around 17. Lulu is very vain, with a bright red main of hair and long legs. She spends most of her time looking in the mirror and ignoring her younger sister. She’s absolutely enamoured of Prince Nusair. Keiki tries to be just like her older sister and follows her around, but Lulu usually just blows her off.
- Rory – Keiki’s older brother. He has short greenish hair, kind of a cross between his mother and his father, and darker skin. Rory is just 13, and he spends most of his time out playing with his friends. He and Keiki absolutely detest one another, and they constantly get into insult wars. He especially detests Lulu, and spends a large portion of his day thinking up ways to torment his older sister.
Friends
- Kelly (stork) – Keiki’s best friend. Kelly is only nine (Keiki gets a lot of joy out of instructing her as to how “older” people act), but she’s a lot taller than Keiki at 5’0”. She has long stork legs, black hair that constantly sticks up in the back, and a white tail. Kelly is kind of quiet, preferring to stick to the background and always lets her friend have the spotlight. She has a secret crush on Rory.
- Marna (pelican) – The third member of Keiki’s band. She’s kind of overweight, with short stubby legs and brownish feathery hair. Marna’s family is from Laranie, and they just recently moved to Merele. As a result, her parents don’t really like her associated with “lesser” types of bird-people, but she does it anyway. She’s fairly talkative, with a very nasal voice. Keiki and Kelly unintentionally leave her out of a lot of their escapades, and Marna secretly resents them a little for it, but she usually tries to keep her feelings hidden.
- Landry (woodpecker) – Keiki’s arch-nemesis. Landry has bright red hair that sticks straight up and a very pointed nose (Keiki calls him Mosquito Boy). His wings are very small, and he can't fly. Landry secretly has a crush on Kelly, but he’d never admit it. He loves to be the center of attention, which puts him on an automatic crash-course with Keiki. The two of them constantly get into fights at school.
- Marco (swan) – Landry’s best friend. Marco is kind of tall, with white hair and a turned-up nose. He’s pretty quiet, preferring to keep to the background and absolutely never takes sides in fights. In kindergarten, Keiki declared that she was in love with him and spent a week chasing him around the school yard. Marco still turns bright red whenever he sees Keiki, even though she seems to have forgotten the incident.
