Summer Nights on Ice in Germany

Despite my fervous updating and redoing of all these pages, I'll try to leave this one alone, since it's my very very first page and the simplicity of it will give me warm fuzzy feelings in the future. *grin*

Well, so much for the off-season! Seems that skaters are busy all year long when it comes to shows! Here are some screen stills (from ARD German TV) of the recent Summer Nights on Ice shows in Halle and Riesa, Germany.

The cast of skaters:

Starting things off..

Stefan Lindemann does "Singing in the Rain," complete with umbrella

!

And Alexei Urmanov does his routine, wearing, um, a weird shirt. Oh well, what did you expect from Urmy anyway?

Mandy Wotzel & Ingo Steur do their "Out of Africa" program.

Lovely Nancy, we haven't seen you in a while!

Kati Winkler and Rene Lohse heat things up with their Latin Original Dance

And Katarina proves that she can still show her stuff!

Alexei Yagudin charms the audience with his '00 short program, "Nutrocker." He also performed his new long program "Gladiator" at this show, jumping while holding (yes, I have confirmed that he was holding his props, even while jumping) two small swords, but the ISU version probably will be debuted on TV at Skate America. (without the swords, most likely, LOL..)

And Now a Message from our Sponsor..

Katarina took a break to interview three-time World Champion Alexei Yagudin....in the men's dressing room! (Alexei fans, brace yourselves!)

She tells him he's flirtatious. Oh, why not? He probably is. (wink wink)

And Now Back to the Show...(still breathing there?)
Denise, still limber even at her 37 years, how does she do it?

And Jumpin' Joe's still at it too!

Renee Roca and Gorsha Sur skate a slow piece.

Kati Winkler and Rene Lohse skate to a Santana guitar piece.

Katarina is on the ice again to finish off the show.

The finale!

That's all, folks!

Thanks so much to Ritti for providing the screen stills! Also, thanks to Laurie of the Alexei Yagudin Discussion Group and FSU for the play-by-play!
