Deanna Stellato - wore a light blue sparkly costume and skated to classical music. Had two falls, one on a triple lutz. Triple lutz/double toe was good, four other triples were good, along with a double axel. She has a fast layback spin. She had looked pretty good in practice and I thought she'd do better here. Tech marks ranged from 5.1 to 5.2, presentation marks ranged from 5.2 to 5.3.

Annie Bellemare - wore a red dress and skated to classical piano music. She fell on a triple flip and popped another jump, didn't see what it was. Triple sal and triple lutz were okay - she doubled her loop and toe loop. Tech marks ranged from 3.9 to 4.4, presentation marks ranged from 4.4 to 4.8.

Diana Poth - wore a pretty white dress and skated to classical music. She fell on her triple lutz and popped another lutz. Triple toe (or flip)/double toe was good, double axel/double toe was good. She also completed a triple sal, triple lutz, and double axel. She has a nice Y-spin. Tech marks ranged from 4.3 to 4.9, presentation marks ranged from 4.5 to 5.4.

Yoshie Onda - wore white with gold trim and skated to classical music. Triple flip, triple lutz, triple loop were good, as was a triple flip/double toe. I saw three other triples along with a double axel. Tech marks ranged from 5.0 to 5.3, presentation marks ranged from 4.6 to 5.2.

Laetitia Hubert - wore blue/black/white print with lots of cut outs with illusion fabric and skated to new age jungle music. Hand down on triple lutz, fall on two other triples, popped her sal and her axel. Had a step between her triple sal/triple toe. Tech marks ranged from 4.0 to 4.6, presentation marks ranged from 4.2 to 5.2.

Galina Maniachenko wore an Indian looking brown and gold costume and skated to new age music. She had looked good in the practices so I was surprised to see her falter here. Fell on triple loop and triple sal, popped her flip, wonky landing on double axel. She did manage a triple lutz/double toe. Tech marks ranged from 4.5 to 5.0, presentation marks ranged from 50 to 5.4.

Fumie Suguri - wore a pretty navy blue dress with silver stars and skated to classical or soundtrack music. Triple lutz/double toe was good, as were her triple flip, triple toe, and triple lutz. She fell out of her triple sal but hung on to her triple loop. She has a pretty layback spin. Tech marks ranged from 5.5 to 5.6, presentation marks ranged from 5.2 to 5.6.

Michelle Kwan - wore black and skated to esoteric violin and piano music. Triple loop was wonky, but triple sal, triple lutz, triple toe, and double axel were good. Also managed a triple lutz/double toe and a triple toe/double toe, along with a double axel. Nice Charlotte spiral. There was also a weird slip, but I doubt she would get marked down if it wasn't during an element. Not her most inspired performance. Tech marks ranged from 5.5 to 5.8, and presentation marks ranged from 5.7 to 5.9.

Jennifer Robinson - wore a too fussy brown and cream dress and skated to classical music. Had a hand down on her triple sal, triple toe was wonky, popped her axel. Triple loop, triple flip, triple sal/double toe, and triple lutz were okay. She has a pretty layback spin. Nice combo spin at the end, too. Tech marks ranged from 5.0 to 5.4, presentation marks ranged from 5.2 to 5.7.

Irina Slutskaya - wore pink and black? (can't read my own notes, LOL) and skated to "Don Quixote." Fell on her opening triple/triple - not exactly sure what it was supposed to be - triple lutz/triple loop? She followed that with a double sal, and I started to get worried. But she roared back with a triple sal, triple lutz, triple loop, triple flip, double axel, and triple toe, and I stopped worrying, LOL. Tech marks ranged from 5.7 to 5.9, presentation marks ranged from 5.6 to 5.9.

The ladies did better than the men, for a change, LOL...I was initially surprised to see Irina win this - I thought Michelle had done enough to squeak out a win, but it looked like the judges thought she was absent in spirit, too. Normally, Michelle can win these close ones with presentation, but it really did seem to me that her heart wasn't in it. Maybe the judges agreed.
