Hans Peter SWENNING born Mar. 12, 1833 Death Dec. 10, 1916 in Ottumwa Iowa. Find A Grave. Peter Swenning is the brother of John Swanson. I do not know if they were 1/2 brothers or if they were brothers in-laws. He sailed to the US in 1872 with John Swanson and his wife Johanna Matilda Johnson, her Mother and Father and seven of Johanna's brothers. Peter was killed by a train according to family legend. I have not been able to verify this. Hans Peter was married to Nellie (Petronella) SWANSON. Nellie (Petronella) SWANSON was born about 1846 in Sweden. She emigrated in 1890. Vandel (Wendell) SWENNING Birth Apr. 18, 1886 in Halland Sweden Death Mar. 31, 1963 in Knoxville, Iowa. WWI vet. Had shell shock. Died at Knoxville Hosptital. Family (Tena, little Lloyd, little Larry and others) visited him often. He carved wooden trains. No known decedents 5. Augusta SWENNING. Tena SWENNING Birth March 10 1873 in Halland Sweden Death Jan 18 1949. She emigrated in 1895. Tena had been in the United States 3 years when she married Gust Larson. The 1900 census shows that Tena could read and write. The 1910 census shows that Tena lived at 802 Lyon St Des Moines IA 50309. According to on-line maps this home is still there. It was built in 1887. Tena was married to Gust LARSON about 1898. Gust LARSON was born in Dec 1870 in Sweden. He emigrated in 1887. Gust had been in the United States 11 years when he married Tena Swenning. Tena (Tina) SWENNING and Gust LARSON had the following children: i. Leonard LARSON. ii. Clarence William LARSON. Tena SWENNING and Gust LARSON divorced. Tena was married to Lenoard HIGGINS. Lenoard HIGGINS was born in 1913. Tena (Tina) SWENNING and Leonard HIGGINS had the following children: i. Jimmy HIGGINS. Sister Josephine SWENNING. Died of quick TB Sister Josephine was married to Lenoard HIGGINS also. They were married first. After Josephine's death, Leonard married sister Tene (Tina) Augusta SWENNING was born in 1880 in Sweden. Augusta was married to John Oscar LUNDGREEN. John Oscar LUNDGREEN was born about 1869 in Sweden. Augusta SWENNING and John Oscar LUNDGREEN had the following children: i. Lenoard LUNDGREEN was born in 1902. He died about 1913.
