The Creation of Howlin' Wolfe Stratt
SN2

SN 2 at the Factory

The Surgical work

The building of Howlin' Wolfe Statt SN2 required information that was only available from SN1. Early in the morning, SN1 was disassembled and became the pattern for SN2. This fate for SN1 is bound to be an normal event.

The pick guard and electronics are laid out using a vernier caliper. This caliper was used to find the locations for the electronics, using SN1 as a model. The pick guards are set side by side for comparison. SN1 is a vintage Fender Stratocaster and the pick guards and overall size of SN1 and SN2 are not quite the same. "Doc" Dollins (Michael Dollins of Moon Dance) does the surgical work on SN2's little body.

SN2 is shown here after surgery, with parts of SN1 and SN2 shown on the operating table. SN2's electronics are being assembled in the factory. SN2 shown finished outside the factory and inside the factory. SN2 ill be played live over closed circuit internet telephone this evening March 17, 2001. This guitar will be heard in Honolulu and Spokane. Before this guitar is released for sale, it will be used on Danny's "Sunny Days" cd on a song called Blue Moon of Kentucky. SN2 is also known internally as "Kentucky Blue".
