If
you don't enjoy dozing in the hammock or reading on the swing on the front porch there are
plenty of wonderful golf courses or great hiking and cycling in
the summer. In the winter
sit by the fire and read a book or go cross country skiing. Warkworth and environs have a lot to offer at any time of year! The Maple Syrup Festival in March
is a must! The Village Lantern Walk with old fashioned carolling in mid-December is a unique
Victorian recreation. The fall fair is a true farm country event
as is the summer Rodeo at the Fair Grounds in the Village. 'Rural Ramble' in August takes you on an exciting tour of a number of different and unique farming ventures in the immediate area. The annual Warkworth pie contest in November
has a wide reputation. There are many other special events including local
amateur theatre and world class music at the Westben Summer Music Festival. We are close to wonderful
parks and lakes and waterways, such as the Trent Canal, Rice Lake and Lake Ontario. Shop in the Village or nearby in Peterborough, Cobourg, Port Hope, Belleville,
Colborne, Brighton or Campbellford. There are pottery shops, arts
and crafts stores and plenty of antique shops all around us. A visit to Stonehouse Gardens on Main Street Warkworth is a must.
Of course you must stop in to buy some good old fashioned
Warkworth Cheese at the Warkworth Cheese House. We can even point
you in the direction of a few good restaurants. There is nothing like a breakfast at The Village Diner right here in town. And, if we can't
put you up here, there are a number of fine bed and breakfasts close
by that we can readily suggest.
