To relax
2) why/how did you start?
With a good friend and his brother we smoked a joint.

relaxes, makes conversation flow more

Recreational, but sometimes I find it helps me think more clearly.
5) what are your thoughts on legalization?
Weed should be legalized because the government has no right to impose laws that criminalize actions that have no victim.(Victimless crime is a damn ironic combination of words when you think about it.)

Easy question, BIG BUSINESS(can you say alchohol and tobacco)

1) why do you do it?
I enjoy it. It keeps me on a level playing field, relieved pain and stess. I could go on forever.
2) why/how did you start?
I always wanted to try, one day I met someone who was willing to share some pot with me, and I was introduced to the wonderful world of marijuana.
3) what does it do you to when you are high?
Relaxing. well all depends on how much I smoke .. hehe
4) is it recreational or spiritual for you?
Recreational.
5) what are your thoughts on legalization?
Decriminalization is definately neede. Legalization would be great.

I think there is too much propaganda surrounding it, and there is countless reason to support legalization

1) why do you do it?

Feels good (both physically and mentally) and it helps me keep an open-mind.

2) why/how did you start?

I first tried it at my older sisters party, but didn't begin smoking until a year later. A friend took some of his brother's stash and after seeing a movie we tried it on a quick homemade bong (w/out thumbhole, LOL that was hard to inhale).

3) what does it do you to when you are high?

Depends on the bud. I can be paranoid and jumpy or mellow and laid back. Most of the time my body feels slightly 'numb' (for lack of a better word) and I feel very relaxed and connected, and I find that I think abstractly.

4) is it recreational or spiritual for you?

It started of recreational, but now it is spiritual in a sense. I tend to smoke with a few good friends/alone instead of at a party or a large group because I find that I enjoy silently thinking about life, religion, philosophy, science, etc..

5) what are your thoughts on legalization?

It should be legalized. We are supposed to be the government (democracy - 'by the people') yet we get almost no say in this matter. The government/most people's ideas are based on the 'Reefer Madness' propaganda of the 20's and 30's, but times have changed and so should our views.

6)why do you think it is illegal and reasons to support legalization

It is illegal because of the same reasons there are no electric cars and suitable alternative fuels - companies own the government. It sounds cynicle but it is true. The paper companies didn't want hemp around so they manipulated the government, like the gas companies. If it was legal the government could get their hands on more money, jails wouldn't be full of innocent people, and basically it should be legal because it isn't bad, it's that simple.

6. It is ilegeal because people believe that it poses a threat to public safety. This has created a culutre were marijuana being ilegal is the norm.

depends on the situation...when im with friends its just to have a crazy good time (also i feel weed is a good way to bond with people) and when im alone just to relax

i started because i knew quite a few people that smoked and one of my best friends did and it made me curious as to what it would be like

sometimes i get all wacked out and just cant stop laughing and sometimes i just have all these thoughts in my head that just seem to want to come out

i think its more recreational for me

i think it should DEFENATLY be legalizated...why should the government decide what we do with our own bodies

i think that is still illegal today cause of a few reasons:
the government has too much pride i think to just admit it was wrong all these years (which is what it would be doing if it legalized it)
and the other reason is countries like the states has huge power and influence amoung other countries and the other countries dont want to make the us "mad" at them

Strange as it seems, an anti-drug program actually got me interested in smoking pot.

I got caught for underaged drinking and was sent through an alcohol and drug awareness program. After reading about pot, I knew I had to try it. In plain language it told me that a) pot was relatively safe, compared to other drugs and b) it was a mild hallucinogenic that gave the smoker a sense of euphoria. What kind of teenager wouldn't want to try pot after an intro like that??

Well, I won't get into that, it would require paragraphs. Let's just say it opens my mind to wondrous possibilities and insights. 'Nuff said ...

100% spiritual

well, it should be legal, obviously

big business mostly. There's a lot of excellent discussions on this topic here on this board, btw.

1. Its fun, its relaxing, it expands your mind, it helps me get in touch with music, etc.
2. I started because a friend of mine had recently and I had figured out the gov't propaganda. Plus I thought it would make me more creative, which it did in some respects.
3. It relaxes me. It opens me up to new thoughts and ideas. Instead of inhibiting my senses, it expands them.
4. Both recreational and spiritual.
5. It should be legal because it is safer than alcohol and tobacco.
6. Businesses that would lose money, including businesses that would be affected by industial hemp including cotton and oil.

To relax, make boring work more interesting, to relieve stress, to welcome someone into my home.

2) why/how did you start?
I started one week before halloween in 1994. Lots of my friends had smoked and i just wanted to try it out.

3) what does it do you to when you are high?
I'd have to say that the first 3 or 4 hits are the best, when you can feel MJ coming into play inside. When I get high, I'm usually in a much better mood than I was before I smoked. It makes me more sociable. It also provides me with the ability to really deconstruct and think about whatever issues need working out.

4) is it recreational or spiritual for you?
It's both. I smoke every day, right after I get home from work, and then probably 2 or 3 more bowls before it's time to go to sleep. But I also appreciate the spiritual aspect of it, that there is something naturally occuring in the world that can soothe my soul.

5) what are your thoughts on legalization?
It is f-ucking ridiculous that the govt can decide to oulaw a naturally occuring plant. The govt's stance on all drugs is hypocritical since they allow all those unsafe, barely tested, synthetic chemicals (prescription drugs) to be used by everyone. And I'm not going to even get into an alcohol vs. weed argument, it's been done too many times and we all know the arguments.

6)why do you think it is illegal and reasons to support legalization.
I've read a lot of different reason that marijuana was made illegal, ranging from newspaper publishers worrying about competition from hemp paper suppliers after they'd invested in paper mills to it being made illegal to provide an easy way to harass migrant workers who used marijuana. It's bullsh-it that it is illegal. I think one of the best reasons to support legalization is that this particular law really represents the governments way of doing things, that is they do it without regard for the people. F-uck them.

1. Fun, relaxation, good way to socialize, also if you want to tell someone or break some hard news or just something unexpected it's easier because you're closer when high.

2. Started in 6th grade, when I was 11, because I was very curious what it was like to be *high*

3. Makes me think. Makes me space out. Makes me hyper. Makes me lazy. Makes me horny. Makes sex the last thing on my mind. All depends on the weed man.

4. Some kinds of weed make me feel enchanted, and closer to God. I usually feel this way w/ any type of weed if I smoke just a little but with a lot this isn't always the case.

1. To make sure I'm still living outside the box. When I smoke, I stumble on new thoughts and philosophies which help shape my character and release prejudice and ignorance in its most primitive forms.

3. Well the good herb effects and affects me in different ways. It is not something I can really put into words or else I wouldn't be doing the herb justice.

When I use it for recreation it lifts my spirit and just makes me enjoy normal things to a higher degree which ends up being medicinal. The philosophical aspects shape, form, and contribute to the evolution of insight, in which I integrate into my sprituality. But the spiritual aspects of the plant is like a pure beam of virtue that flows deep within the core of my being.

6. Because creation is where we originated. To make creation illegal is not only a law which embodies a lack of understanding, but seperates us from ourselves which in the end brings strife and ignorance. Liberation and enlightenment make the world flourish with beauty.

Me and my friend, I tried to stop him untill I read how bad MJ really is. Kinda been a bit jaded

Makes me hyper and happy for the first two hours, really relaxed and calm. Changes my whole perception of the world into a very friendly environment.

I think people don't understand what weed is. They think its some kind of herojuana. Laws making it illegal to smoke marijuana make harm the general public in enormous and profound ways, way more than any drug could possibly do. 200 dollars PER PERSON is spent to encarcerate drug offenders

just goes to show you how anything in your life that you find enjoyable, others see it as a problem.
