How To view Korean
Even if your computer is running the English edition of Windows 95, Windows 98, or Windows NT 4.0, you may browse Korean web pages using Internet Explorer 3.0 or later or using Netscape Navigator 3.0 or later. Some websites advise that in order to view Korean text, you must install a third-party add-on for Windows or a special multilingual web browser. This advice is no longer correct. It is now possible to both browse and enter text in Korean using any language version of Windows by installing language packs provided by Microsoft. We recommend using these language packs rather than installing add-on products which modify Windows at a low level and may cause your system to be less reliable.
To download the Korean Input Methods and Language Packs, visit the Microsoft Global IME page. (or download here!!!) The abbreviation "IME" refers to "Input Method Editor", which is the term Microsoft uses for that program which enables East Asian text to be typed from a standard keyboard.

After installing the Korean language pack and rebooting your machine, Netscape Navigator 4.0 users can view Korean web pages by pulling down the Preferences menu, selecting Appearances, selecting Fonts, and then selecting either the font gulimche or batangche as both the fixed and proportional font for the Korean encoding. Then pull down the View menu, select Encoding, and then Korean (Auto-Detect).
