Torrential rain, all day.
A mostly good day. I went to bed before Fumihiko last night. He couldn't sleep because of his back. Poor thing. This morning though, I slept in a bit. When I roused myself the first time he wasn't doing anything exciting so I went back to bed. When I finally got up, we both spent time on our computers.
We went out for lunch to the new restaurant that's opened near our apartment. It's a burger/curry/steak place. It's very small, about the size of McDonald's or something. The food was okay, but I wouldn't say it was great. The grand opening is tomorrow so we were there for a sneak preview I guess. It certainly won't get on my list of favourite places right away, but it might grow on me.
After lunch, Fumihiko suggested karaoke. I thought he was nuts, but said yes. (When have I ever said no to karaoke???) On the way there he decided to stop in at the police station to see about getting an international drivers license again. Then, he decided to come home and take care of that. That was fine by me. We came home and in a few minutes he announced that he wasn't going to do the license thing today, and wanted to go to karaoke again. So, we did!
We spent an hour at Manekineko, and had a blast singing a bunch of songs. Fumihiko coughed quite a bit, which worried me as I don't think it was good for his asthma, but he seemed glad to be there. We had drink bar too, and I had at least 3 drinks, and so did hubby. When we paid the grand total was 180 yen! Huh? Amazingly cheap! We'll have to try going in the daytime more often.
Fumihiko dropped me off at my school and he went home. I got to work. I looked over my lessons for today, and tomorrow. Basically the today's one was okay, but the ones for tomorrow are picking up from where we left off last week and some review. I hope they work. My class tonight went fairly well. The child is trying quite hard, and that's worthy of credit!
After I did my paperwork I called Fumihiko and he picked me up. We went to Moundon for dinner tonight, the Korean restaurant. We had some Bulgogi, Kinoko Itame and Fumihiko had a noodle dish too. Everything was very good.
We went through the grocery store on the way home and I decided that since Fumihiko thought he'd be late tomorrow night, I wouldn't cook. Ha! Take that!
We came home and spent the rest of the evening on our respective computers. Fumihiko went to bed a few minutes ago and I'm typing away at my daily entry. I did finish a book tonight, but I listed it as being finished on the 29th of July. I just finished Little Earthquakes, one of my Jennifer Weiner novels that I've been hoarding. It was really good, but had a lot to do with pregnancy and child-rearing. I liked her writing (and her stories about the mother-in-law from hell) but I really prefered the other two novels of hers that I've read. I have one more of hers, I'll have to see how it goes. Good chick-lit read.
And that was my day. I have two afternoon classes tomorrow, so I have to get up and do my morning stuff in the morning tomorrow. Wish me luck!
