November 11, 2000 - Saturday
Remembrance Day
Last night you may remember that I did a bit of cleaning because the landlord was
supposed to come by and take pictures. Well, this morning I got up early, even folded
up my futon so I could be ready when he arrived. He never arrived. (More on that
later.)
I left for work feeling a bit disgruntled because the landlord didn't show up. When
I opened the door, I was amazed to see....snow. It was lying on the ground. I walked
to work...stopping off at McDonald so I could get some nuggets and fries for breakfast. Yes, I know that's not terribly healthy. Sorry. I wanted something hot.
At work I discovered that my Cosmo had finally arrived! Yay.
Classes went well. Almost everyone came, and worked hard! My last discussion group
was good too. We talked about the attempted robbery at the Millennium Dome, among
other topics.
During the day I re-read the note about my landlord. He had said he would come next
Saturday! I got the date wrong. So, I had to take back all my nasty thoughts about
him! After work I locked up and walked home. Most of the snow had gone, although
there was a little bit of ice on the bridge. It was nice to get home fairly early.
At home I put my futon back out and tried to relax. I'm still taking Tylenol. I
think I had better try to taper off them soon. I've never taken so many in so short
a time before.
What's on the agenda for tomorrow? I have to try to buy plane tickets for my New
Year's holiday and I also desperately need to get winter boots. I like my walking
shoes, but I don't think they'll cut it when it gets really snowy. And, of course,
I intend to sleep in. Late. Very late. Really, really late! Don't call me, don't knock
on my door, cause I won't answer. You have been warned!
Nighty-night!
