June 25, 2000 - Sunday

I'm a tad disappointed tonight. There was supposed to be an English movie on TV tonight, but it's actually French. I can't understand it so I can't watch it.

I'm really tired, I was up early this morning for a weekend. I went to bed after 3 last night, so I'm beat.

The school picnic was today. I bought a few snacks on the way home last night so I'd have something to contribute. The weather was amazing. Hot and sunny, but with a nice wind so it didn't get too hot. The food was good too. There was a good assortment of things. Salad, chicken, cake, rice balls...lots of things. Yum yum.

I felt a bit out of place though because I really didn't know anybody except my lone student who attended! I didn't have a job to do either so I stood around for a bit, not knowing what to do. After a while I relaxed more and started talking to people. It was nice to be out in the sunshine though...or should I say shade, since I didn't venture out of it very much!

After the picnic, which ended around 4:30 I think, we went to a restaurant near the canal. Most of us just had something to drink, like iced coffee or iced tea. I gabbed for a while to one of Justin's students. She's a bank clerk so we had a discussion about uniforms at work!

When that party broke up, we headed our separate ways. Justin and I got a ride back to our respective apartments, where he discovered that he had lost his key. He was able to get the landlord to let him in, so that was okay.

The rest of the evening I spent by myself, except for a brief visit from Justin to pick up the fax machine that the last teacher left. I said he could have it. I also got a call from Pamella and we gabbed for a while. She sounds like she's coming down with something.

I wrote a letter tonight...one I should have written before, but didn't. I hope it doesn't make the receiver upset.

Anyway, I can hardly keep my eyes open, so I'm going to end this now. Have a good day.....
