I led a very routine early life of green lawns and public schools in Southern California. My parents moved here a few years before I was born, although I was actually born in New York...which still confuses me to this day. My mom and dad were great parents. I have an older sister and a younger brother. Neither is confused about their birth location.
I attended high school in Lakewood California, during which time my chief interests were music, photography and figuring out what I could make a bong out of at Lunch Time. I have never felt entirely comfortable in a classroom atmosphere and so by the time my final semester had arrived, I was ready to depart those ivy halls. In any event, I graduated from high school and moved out of my parent's house (more or less) at the tender age of 17. I used to throw these huge Halloween parties. I love Halloween. It is a non-religious holiday where you can throw on any sort of get up and be someone or something different. People would come all decked out and get totally crazy. We would always have 3 different bands play the party. I was in two of the bands that were to be playing this one particular year. We needed a 3rd band and so a friend of mine said she knew another group who wanted to play the party. I asked what they were called. "Babylonian Tiles" she said. Through yet another series of bizarre incidents, I joined the "Tiles" at the following year's Halloween party. Anyway, that's all for now. I will leave sketchy any descriptions of my years immediately following high school and college. Suffice it to say I traveled a lot and had many strange adventures. Some of them I put into comic form. I will post them when I am able to.
