Gor Drugs and Herbs

Agrimony an antibiotic salve 


Arro ....use arial parts of the plant. Preparation and doasge : Infusion: pur a cup of boiling water into 1-2 teaspoons of the dried herb amd leave to infuse 10-15 mins .When feverish it should be drunk hourly. Tincture. take 2-4 mls of Tincture 3 times daily 


Bergament salve used for itching and rashes 

Black pepper hurts but it stops bleeding 


Blue short grass ...A powder made of this grass once dried and crushed is used as an analgesic. It grows beneath the water of falls

Brak Bush......a shrub whose leaves have a purgative effect when chewed....Branches of this plant are nailed over doors during the Waiting Hand to discourage bad luck from entering the house in the New Year. 

"almost all doors, including that of the House of Cernus, had nailed to them some branches of the Brak Bush, the leaves of which, when chewed, have a purgative effect. It is thought that...the branches of the Brak Bush discourage entry of bad luck into the houses of the citizens."

Breeding wine - A sweet beverage which counteracts the effects of slave wine, making a slavegirl fertile; also called second wine...active ingreadient is teslik.. pg. 319, Blood Brothers of Gor 

Capture scent - Chloroform; it will render a person unconscious when inhaled.

Cayenne Pepper also referred to as stinging spices...levels out blood pressure, when made as a tea helps to stop internal bleeding, when applied as a paste, stops external bleeding 


Chamomile - in a tea to aid with sleep....especially during pregnancy 


Dried sunflower seeds crushed and smoked in a pipe helps with a cold and clears the head 


Emetics - Mix the powder with water, drink. --Dancers of Gor, page 238. ( See Laxatives. )

Gieron - A drug, an allergen, which causes a yellowing of the whites of the eyes; in combination with Sajel, it reproduces the symptoms of the Bazi plague. Non-infectious.

"My pursuit of you was foiled," I said, "by the results of the drug you placed in my paga."
"The drug," said Shaba, "was a simple combination of sajel, a simple pustulant, and gieron, an unusual allergen. Mixed they produce a facsimile of the superficial symptoms of Bazi plague."
"I could have been killed," I said, "by the mob."
" I did not think many would care to approach you," said Shaba.
"It was not your intention then that I be killed?" I asked.
"Certainly not," said Shaba. "if that was all that was desired, kanda might have been introduced into your drink as easily as sajel and gieron"

Healing Salve -

Hemp - works like dopamine to increase blood pressure 


Honey - Applied on a wound helps promote healing. There is honey on Gor.

Injections - The use of needles is found in Captive of Gor, and Fighting Slaves of Gor. Captive of Gor pg 93-94.



Kanda........A leafy plant of the Gorean deserts whose roots hold a lethal poison. Kanda leaves have a strong, addictive narcotic effect that may make this plant a cousin of the Earth Coca plant. It seems the chewing of Kanda leaves brings a state of euphoria/numbness that is similar to that of strong analgesics.They are not to be swallowed

"The roots of the kanda plant, which grows largely in desert regions on Gor, are extremely toxic, but, surprisingly, the rolled leaves of this plant, which are relatively innocuous, are formed into strings and, chewed or sucked, are much favored by many Goreans, particularly in the southern hemisphere, where leaf is more abundant."

Laxatives -

Ost bites - Immediate death. Its venom is a neurotoxin, there is NO anecdote. Massive tissue necrosis meantioned in Outlaws and Assassins

peppermint - stop infections ....or make oil to use as antiseptic like bactine


Sajel - A drug which causes harmless pustules to erupt on the body; in combination with Gieron, it reproduces the symptoms of the Bazi plague. Non-infectious. ( See Gieron for more description. )

Shock - Common symptoms include - Pale, sweaty, or clammy skin. A drop in blood pressure and elevated pulse rate. Rapid, shallow respiration.


"Sometimes, said Flaminius... shock cannot be so easily prevented. Indeed sometimes the lash itself drives the girl into shock. Then sedations and drugs are called for." --Assassin of Gor, page 128.

Sip root - A bitter root whose extract is the active ingredient in slave wine. Red Savages make their slaves chew as a means of birth control. usually last 3 months but may be given momthly to be sire ( Red Savage of Gor)

" She did not need the sip root, of course, for, as she had pointed out, she had had some within the moon, and indeed, the effect of sip root, in the raw state, in most women, is three or four moons." pg. 319, Blood Brothers of Gor 




Slave wine - A black, bitter beverage that acts as a contraceptive; its effect is instantaneous and lasts almost forever or until counter-acted with breeding wine....active ingreadient is sip root 

"Sip root....In the concentrated state, as in slave wine, developed by the caste of physicians, the effect is almost indefinite, usually requiring a releaser for its remission, usually administered, to a slave, in what is called the breeding wine, or the "second wine".pg. 319, Blood Brothers of Gor 


Stabilization Serums - A series of medical injections which, among other things, retards the aging process; an invention of the Priest-Kings, approved by them for use by humans; administered in 4 injections.

"They are administered in four shots, said the Physician....The Physician busying himself with fluids and a syringe before a shelf in another part of the room laden with vials. I screamed. The shot was painful. It was entered in the small of my back, over the left hip.....the Physician returned to check the shot. There had been apparently no unusual reaction. On the first day I had been examined, given some minor medicines of little consequence, and the first shot in the Stabilization Series. On the second, third and fourth day I received the concluding shots of the series. On the fifth day the Physician took more samples. Tassa powder - A reddish powder, usually mixed with red wine, which renders the consumer unconscious.

Teslik - A plant whose extract is the active ingredient in breeding wine pg. 319, Blood Brothers of Gor 

Willow - parts used bark, leaves and buds... the bark is chewed, and tea is brewed from leaves or inner bark for pain relief
