How Many Jackball Guests Are There?

Phil Hendrie has a multitude of guests in the last three years while on radio station KFI in Los Angeles. Listed here are short biographies of the many one or two time guests.

Al Darkman

Al Darkman runs a plumbing service in Alhambra CA and sponsored the live broadcast from Mann's Chinese Theatre in May 1998. He was offering half off on replacing all your pipes in honor of the premier of the new StarWars movie.

Viola of San Dimas

Viola of San Dimas is an 80 year old woman living in a seniors home. She called in very distraught because the Jon Benet Ramsey murder case was closing without any results. She and many of her senior friends had started a True Crime Club and had been following the case very closely. Since her husband died five years ago, this was all she lived for. The club had spoken with many police and murder experts and had even gone on many cases to the LA Morgue. In fact, Viola spent most of her social security to pay the public bus fares from San Dimas to the morgue. The club had even made True Crime t-shirts with Ramsey's picture on the back. But now Viola does not have any reason to go on.

Viola was very concerned prior to GW Bush's election to President because she believed that Bush was going to send all seniors to Montana and fence in the state. She also feared that he would make all seniors work in car washes.

Viola has other fears. She was so upset with the release of Steve Allen's death to the public. She had heard Allen had died from a simple traffic accident. She said she and other seniors could not handle that kind of news.

Dr. Jim Saddler

Dr. Jim Saddler from San Francisco, CA is a Democratic political strategist. He provides insights for Phil's show on various political issues. He called in after the Balkan War ended to talk about what "brass balls" President Bill Clinton had to wage only an air war. He also infuriated military people and dependents who called in to complain about Saddler's take on things.

Saddler is also a dentist. He recently entered a new innovations contest and was disgusted that his idea lost out to a black guy's invention of a circular escalator. Saddler believed that was reverse racism. His idea is to have a combination dentist and obgyn office. His dental chairs also have furlined stirrups on them so he can clean your teeth while at the same time conducting gynecological observations. He was attacked from all the callers.

Jim Saddler also owns J. Saddler entertainment and wants Phil to do a game show for the physically challenged. The game show is called Pitfall for the blind where the contestants have to collect $1,000,000 from 7 stations - the contestant has two people helping - one who tells the truth, and one who lies. The lying person is trying to get the person to fall down two fights of metal stairs (where consolation prizes are waiting); they won't get hurt because blind people have loose muscles, because they wouldn't see the stairs so they wouldn't tense up. If the lying person succeeds, he gets $10,000. If contestant wins, the truth person gets $10,000 from the million. Also could have Deaf Star Search - play music and have deaf people dance on stage - the person who dances in time the best, wins. (you'll get some comic relief for those who don't). Other games might be “Alzheimer's Challenge" or "This Is Your Life, Do You Remember It"

Bob Bakian

Bob Bakian is a helicopter news reporter for KFi radio in LA. He broke the story of McGruff the Crime Dog dying after chasing a car and being run over. Unfortunately, McGruff has had this addiction of chasing cars and trucks all of his life.

Bob has since moved on to being the Traffic reporter on the Skippy and Frank Morning Show in Bellville.

George Milliken

George Milliken of Toluca Lake was a guest who called to discuss his preparations for Y2K. George is preparing for the problems of Y2K with his family of three and several neighbors. He has gotten all the canned food stuffs and bottled water to last several months into the new Millenium. He also has quite an arsenal of weapons and explosives to protect against the certain anarchy to follow. They have developed a security perimeter around their Shock Shelter with observation posts and even a tower in the back yard. He has plenty of explosives to create a secure environment. In reality, George is a survivalist waiting for an opportunity to really survive!

Austin Webb

Austin Webb is with the Irish Folk Dancing Group of Santa Clarita CA. The group dances every Friday night at the Red Lobster in Santa Clarita. He also owns Austin Webb Cabinet Making Company. He is very concerned that Michael Flatley had stolen his style of Irish folk dancing from Webb and his dance troupe. In fact, they had danced for Flatley at the Macaroni Grill many years before Flatley became famous. Flatley then started using Webb's style of dancing which includes keeping one's hands down. Webb wanted to sue Flatley for theft of his ideas.

Webb is quite versatile as he also dances with the Santa Clarita Latin Dancing Club. He loves dancing the mamba to Ricky Martin's La Vida Loca.

Raj Fahneen

Raj Fahneen is a 35 year old Egyptian fellow. He loves KTLA, Channl 5 in LA and the KTLA news team especially Stan Chambers. He thinks the other LA news teams suck especially John Beard who Raj describes as a "bastard". But he thinks Stan Chambers is a "god".

Raj also loves Van Halen and Metallica but has a problem with that. Van Halen music especially "Jump" just intoxicates Raj while he is driving. He was ticketed for doing 95 on the 210 freeway because he was singing to Jump! Now he wants Van Halen or the music company to pay his ticket.

Raj also did an hour on the radio of "I Got Blues".

Raj was also very upset with how V. Singh reacted after winning the US Masters Open. He said it was very inappropriate for a foreigner to gloat about his win over Americans. he should have humbly gotten into his little foreign car and driven home after the win. Imagine the flack Raj got from the listeners!

Karl Mizla

Karl Mizla (or Misler) is a British reporter stationed in Belgrade, Yugoslavia who spoke with Phil via shortwave radio or poor quality satellite phone live during the NATO bombing of Belgrade. His primary interest was telling Americans to forget about this little war and get on with raising their kids. Mizla says,"Bloody Americans!"

Roland Howe

Roland Howe is with The American Council on Infant Safety. His organization is looking at innovative ways to provide cheap but safe means of child care. Some of their ideas include child bins which would go above the luggage racks in airplanes. They also have child lockers which would cost about 75 cents an hour, far cheaper than any other child care means. The children would be very safe with nothing in the locker to hurt them. Howe says that the children should only remain in the lockers for about three hours. Callers were in disbelief about this guy!
