Quote O' The Week

This page is here because sometimes we all need little words of wisdom or humor to carry around with us inside our heads and ponder every now and then. I'm always hearing or seeing things that I think are really cool and want to share them with others. But I don't want to keep annoying all my poor friends by going up to them all the time and saying, "Hey, I just heard the coolest thing. Let me tell you about it..." So I've set up this little section of my domain and given you the free choice of whether to read it or not. I'm also sorry if you've noticed that my week seems to last for a month or so.

'Nuff 'splaining, here's the quote of the week:

There are shortcuts to happiness, and dancing is one of them.

-Vicki Baum

The Quote O' Last Week

just in case you missed it

So what you're saying is, "We don't hate homosexuals, we're just angry at the ones that turn us on."

-a question posed to a homophobe in an interview on The Daily Show.

Needless to say, the guy was speechless.

The Quote O' The Week Before That

Everybody's where they wanna be.

-Peter Tork

My boss told me to stop telling him that because he says it's depressing. Well, he's in denial anyway. It's still true. We should all take such great resposibility for ourselves and stop whining about whose fault it is that we're not happy.

The Quote O' The Week Before That

Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans.

-John Lennon

How true. What else can I say?

The Quote O' The Week Before That

... and you shall take me strongly in your arms again
and I will not remember that I even felt the pain
we shall walk and talk in gardens all misty wet with rain
and I will never, never, never grow so old again

-Van Morrison

The Quote O' The Week Before

It takes every blade of grass to make the meadow green.
-Irish Proverb

The Quote O' The Week Before That

Time is an ocean, but it isn't the shore
from "Oh Sister" by Bob Dylan

The Quote O' The Week Before That

He never takes you anywhere? Take yourself.

I went into the bathroom stall at a very loud, smokey bar last night and saw this quote on a Camero ad on the back of the door. I thought it was very profound (maybe it was the alcohol in my system) and made a point to remember it. I'm not even sure if I got it right, but please don't make me go back there and look. If you've been sitting in the john and seen the same ad, let me know if I'm wrong. Anyway, it's a wonderful suggestion and I encourage any woman out there to follow that advice. Don't ever rely on another person to make you enjoy your life. If you don't think you have enough excitement in your life, get out there and do something exciting. It's all up to you, girlfriend (okay, and you boyfriends, too).
