Does anyone know what this fountain was about?
The lions head water spout is broken off.
Also, tiled benches surround this water fountain.
This fountain is located on Mission Rd across the DMV.

A visitor emailed me and wrote:
"This fountain was originally the entrance to a Zoo in Lincoln Park, the zoo was there in the late 50's; there was also a large carousel and some carnival rides near the tennis courts area"  4/12/00.

Here is the back view of the main entrance behind the fountain.
This was the main entrance to Lincoln Park on Mission Rd. & Lincoln Park Ave.
All of the attractions that are mentioned in this web site are referenced at this point.
