An 8th grade teacher named Ms. Johnson at Hoover School owns her own business called Norma J’s Signature Collection. Her business is a beauty shop. She sells skin care and body products. Her locations are Palo Alto, Oakland, San Francisco, and Milpitas. Ms.Johnson opened her business in 1987 but by this year she closed all of her stores because she is going to re-open them in Atlanta, Georgia. We asked her how long it took for her to open her business and she said,” A business grows and when the business changes the time changes.” Ms. Johnson first sold clothes then decided to sell things people needed everyday.

Ms. Johnson says, “ It’s very time consuming. You have to love what you do.” Ms. Johnson wants to see other students sell their own business products. She loves her business and she thinks it is fun. She also loves to teach students to prepare them for the real world. She meant that she wants to prepare her students for high school and the future. We asked her if it was hard to hire employees and she said,”It’s hard to hire honest employees, because my business has small products that could be stolen easily.” Her business hours are 11am to 7 pm and seven days a week.
