April 11 2000 - Sorry, it's been a while since the last update. The video aired on MuchEast, as expected, so keep on requesting it and get it into regular rotation. Email Mike Campbell and tell him you want to see it. There's a new jingle on the miscellaneous page. Go listen to it, it's great! The Blinkers will be in Radiosonic's Listening Booth on April 29th, so listen to that on CBC or on the internet at Radiosonic's website with RealPlayer. Finally, the site will be going through a complete overhaul in the coming weeks to give you a fuller Heavy Blinkers internet experience, so look forward to that!
Mar. 31 2000 - Lots of Blinkers news! The band's first video, "You Can Heal," will be airing this Sunday night on MuchEast, on at 11:00 Eastern time, 12:00 Atlantic. Tune in for that! Also, the Blinkers will be in Radiosonic's listening booth on April 29th, so if you don't have the album by then, not only should you be ashamed of yourself, you should also listen to see what all the fuss is about! Mar. 21 2000 - There have been many updates ot the page today. The lyrics page has been broken down by album, so all of the lyrics to the Blinkers' new album are now on the site. Mar. 10 2000 - The band is going to be distributed in Canada by Scratch Records... The new album got a four-star review in the U.K. paper, the Guardian.
Mar. 9 2000 - The Heavy Blinkers is going into its second pressing already, due to music-lovers' demand - keep telling your friends about the record! There is a new Miscellaneous page, which should soon become the spot to find lots of new goodies! Right now, there is an MP3 of a jingle the Blinkers have done for the Liquid Room radio show.
Mar. 6 2000 - Parasol Records is now the exclusive distributor of Brobdingnagian Records, which means they are distributing The Heavy Blinkers now. This is great news for everyone. Go visit Parasol's website here!
Mar. 5 2000 - Lots of recent news! Reviews of the new album have been glowing! Go to the review page to read some of them! Also, in the past week alone, the Blinkers have been played in Barcelona, Sweden, L.A., Toronto, and France! In a related matter, the band have just finished recording two jingles for radio stations, "Pop Dreams" in Barcelona and "The Liquid Room" in Santa Barbara. They will posted for you to hear A.S.A.P!
Feb. 14 2000 - The website is relaunched on the release date of the new record!
Jan. 18 2000 - Updates should come more often now as the release of the new album, now simply titled The Heavy Blinkers, approaches. The record release is on Feb. 10 at the Marquee Club in Halifax, and the album will be in stores Feb. 14. The band's first video, for the charming "You Can Heal" will air on MuchEast on MuchMusic in February.
