of the Gourdinary
was created
by Elaina Camacho in her home approximately 6 years ago. She now has a steady
business where people look forward to seeing her gourds around Halloween and
Christmas. She hand picks the gourds personally at a gourd farm and
then painstakingly soaks, cleans, carves and then buffs them into the primitive
artform that she is known for. She is one of the few artists that creates
the gourds completely by hand and not with power tools--- which makes the
process long and arduous.
