"Ah, but that's why they're mutants!!"

History:

These interbred emperor and rock hopper penguins were one of three groups of penguins to evolve. The others all died out over time, but not the flyers, as they were caled. 'Flyers,' since they are not equipped to attack or defend, developed a culture based in arts, sciences, philospophy, and invention. Amung all ice-earth creatures they were known to be the most intelectual of all.

In the year A.F (after Frost) 1,500, a great war erupted between the claws (mutated polar bears) and the tusks (walruses). caught in between were the penguins. The claws and tusks both possessing great physical prowess and weaponry, devastated the 'flyer' encampments. The only choice the penguins had was to turn their inteligence towards defense. They built weapons the likes of which had never been seen on the planet. Although only the mild ones were deadly (standard guns), and the bigger guns were more geared towards submission (sonic emmiters, 'glue' cannons, ect), made them a force to be reckoned with.

The only problem: Tusks had recently unearthered nuclear technology from the ancient human race, and adapted it for use against the claws and fleyers, who had only defended themselves. The flyers had no defense set up against this, though the claws possesed radiation shielding fur, that left them mostly unharmed. The flyer encampments were devastated.

Discovery and Rescue:

[historicl note: the bugs, former cockroaches, refused to help stating that they could care less about being eradiated. Cher said the same thing}

When the next wave of Tusk attacks against the claws through the penguin's lands began, the flyers were readied and fought off both groups with their new found skills, but still incurred heavy losses. As this went on for several days, SlipBot furiously attempted to fix his SlipDrive to allow him to jump himself and the penguins back to his home reality.

Then at the height of the battle, the tusks and the claws each launched nukes. In a last ditched effort, Slip hacked into the rvial power plants and drained as much power as he could before opening a slipgate.

Hurredly, he got as many of the penguins through as he could, before the claws cut off the power. With the slip drive failing, the remaining penguins forced SlipBot through the portal with the last few children, a few soilders, and as many of the intelectuals as could be gathered.

Moments later, the barrage of nukes detonated all over the last flyer colony.

NeoAcron:

Once SlipBot joined up with the Dominion of Monkeys, the penguins found themselves with a wide variety of money making oportunities to aid SlipBot with their upkeep. In the past few years, they have been assistant caterers to the robot, waiters and waitresses at both Rattrapper's Restaurant and the infamous AUG Pub, movers, and gotten a few jobs around R'roothah and the Axalon 5 in various professions.

Notables:

Alfonse: The penguin among penguins. Alfonse is the spokesman for the flock, and is most often found at the side of SlipBot helping him. He is an ambasador, maitre dee, orator, and a bit of an icon for the younger chicks.

Barret: The weapon's specialist. Barret is the only penguin to actually carry a weapon with him at all times. It is actually mounted over his right flipper. When needed, his flipper can be released, but typically the chain gun remains in place for an emergency. Barret builds most of the flocks' weaponry and helps Kert with the machinery.

Cherry: Cherry is one of the up and coming youngins' from the children who came through from ice-earth. Aspiring to be a social activist and journalist, she spends her time traveling across R'roothah trying to find some sentient right violation she can organize people and penguins against.

Kert: Kert is the mechanic and tech scientist of the flock. He builds and maintains most of the equipment the flock needs and works with SlipBot and SlipDuck to the NeoAcron and all of it's systems operational.

Jaden: Jaden is the lead philosopher and astrologer of the penguin flock. He studies the stars and the world about him for signs of things to come, and aids the flock with words of wisdom in their times of need.

Priss: Priss is the only penguin to have become a warrior since the relocation. After a debilitating disease left her nearly paralysed, Kert, Barret and she worked to create a new body for her, making a sort of minurature penguin-transformer, capable of going from Penguin to mini femme robot, with her at the center linking her mind to the robot's. Her 'body' is about the same size as Alphonse, the tallest penguin, while her true body is still quite small.
