| Devorae News Net is an extremely expensive communications system to maintain. Relying on tiny energy transcievers that are artificially createed by sub-atomic manipulation. It provides the only real-time form of deep space communication in the Imperium. The system is substantially superior to most intergalactic forms of deep-space communcation. It requires massive coordination of computing power to sort and decode millions of transmissions. Each Net Center is independant and identical to other Net Centers, so if one is damaged surrounding Net Centers can relay transmission to the next closest Center with minimal loss of information. This ensures a constant flow of uninterrpted communication. Due to its complexity and costs, News Net is almost exclusively used by major colonies and the government; the miltary uses Comm-Thread. |
