The promise of peace and prosperity was overwhelming. Devorae gathered in starships and voyaged back to the Core System. The Fleet was massive and made of various technologies and designs. The Core system was unable to provide for the Devorae race and the people began to become restless. First Lord Mael announced a quest to find a suitable homeworld. The people followed without much question but instead with faith and zeal in the new Imperium and thier First Lord. The fleet moved out slowly away from the system toward the nearest possible star with a planetary system. Along the way cultural diversities and the necessity of survival was a catalyst to create the nomadic Devorae culture. System after system the fleet evloved and grew from forming temporary settlements on useful planets. Then came the alien civilizations. Interspecies communication technologies were primitive so many of the first contacts resulted in fear and the Devorae having to defend ourselves. Single planetary cultures were easily overwhelmed by the massive, now christened, Maelstrom Fleet. Other civilizations were not so easily conquered. Among them are the now extinct Tekar Empire, Huju Confedarate, & the Order. Thier technologies and resources assimilated increased the Maelstrom's power and help create the Devorae warrior culture.
