A great interstellar war among the Devorae erupted approxiamately 25,000 Terran years ago. Independant factions waged war upon each other and the main Devorae government. Advances in technology increased 10 fold. The drive to eliminate enemies with military technology resulted in innovations that civilians adapted to suit their needs. Four major factions dealt destruction to each other. The Coalition, which was a minor power developed yet unknown cloaking technology. They promptly sent cloaked warships to the Devorae Homeworld and destroyed all life upon it. Millions of Devorae perished. This atrocity sealed the fate of the Coalition as the other three major powers; Devoras Unity, Tritos Sect, & Followers of Freedom, destroyed the Coalition. The civil war ended after 45 years of destruction. The Devorae homeworld was no longer fit for life. Scientists estimated that residual elecromagnetic radiation would dissipate after thousands of years. The factions united to form an Imperium and held elections to decide and effective leader of the Imperium with the title of First Lord. The one who arose as victor was First Lord Mael. First Lord Mael had charisma unlike any leader before him. He called for the far flung colonies to return to the home system, to abandon thier backwards living and return to the newly founded Imperium.
