George Stack was the son of Maurice and Catherine Stack and was born in 1847 in Tralee Ireland. George married Mary Ann Foley the daughter of Michael and Margaret Foley on 18 July 1873 in Cape Breton Nova Scotia Canada. Mary Ann was from Harbor Grace Newfoundland Canada. George had family living in Saint John New Brunswick Canada and George and Mary Ann moved there shortly after their marriage. George was a trader or a junk dealer and they were Roman Catholic. George died 15 April 1913 and Mary Ann died less than 24 hours later on 16 April 1913. They had a double funeral which was remembered by many people and relatives. Their children were:
