Things I like about the UK
- Intelligent radio
- Cadbury's Chocolate
- More people use fountain pens here than in the United States
- Social hierarchy is a recognized part of life, although mobility is possible
- You can walk down the street and bump into a 300 year old church next to the newest pub (or McDonald's) in town
- Fresh bread is cheap and delicious
- People are trusted not to break any laws
- 200 miles is a ridiculously long distance
- There is a lot of concern about the past and history
- There seems to be a realization among people that they are going to die
- The ageing process is accepted; almost no one tries to stay forever young
- When you say you can't give a poor person money, or buy something from a street vendor, they say,
- Ridiculously good train and public transportation system
