Chapter Thirteen: He Hates Cats

Chapter Thirteen:
"He Hates Cats"

The guest all came in due time. They were all surprise at the suddenness of the wedding, but they three involved would not tell anything except that the two were happy and willing to marry.

Zach could not believe the age difference. Karen smiled, and greeted her old friend and mischief-maker Zach. He had come to Nadidian at the age of two, and became Karen's constant companion. Karen still laughed at the time she had taken Zach to the dog kennels and they had set loose ever dog in them. My, but they had had fun!

Zach looked very nice. He had very light blond hair and freckles sprinkled across his nose. He was almost as light as Karen, but had a nicer tan. He was a cousin to Queen Jenny, whose physical appearance could be explained in the same words as his. Sometimes, they were thought of as twins. He was born one year before and five days after Karen, which Karen thrilled in.

At the moment, five days before the wedding, Karen and Jenny were hunting up Zach. Karen had just come out of councils of war, and was depressed at the actions of Senator Brinxin. In search of him, they found Carrie.

"Carrie dear, how do you feel if I made you a royal?" Karen exclaimed, remembering that Carrie was the main candidate for Torrave.

"Whoa, slow down acrobat! What do you mean," Carrie giggled at the familiar nickname to Karen, because she was always was goofing off and jumping and such.

"I mean that I am re-capturing Torrave and I would like you to be the ruler, if you want," Karen said, waving down Zach, who was watching two dogs playing.

"I'll have to think about it," said Carrie slowly, looking with her hazel eyes toward a personage behind the Empress. "Lindsay, wait up!" Carrie speed off towards her favorite friend.

"Zach! There are. Come, I have an idea that will get Senator Brinxin. He is being a royal pain. Did you know he hates cats? And I have Mr. Thomas with me right now, in Snow Paradise!" The Mr. Thomas she was referring to was a huge old orange cat. He had very orange eyes and a bull's-eye ring around his sides in white. He looked very thin and slight, until you picked him up. Then you found out that he actually was two inches higher and ten pounds heavier than a normal cat. The odd thing about it is that he is a very affectionate cat, whose purr is loud and heard frequently. He was also talkative, the reason which was that he was raised by humans since one week of age and thought of his little whines as talking, because of the never ceasing mistress he had. Karen had another who looked very heavy, and was in reality heavier than a normal cat and lighter than Mr. Thomas. Bobcat Roberto Riley was a mean cat, which didn't purr a lot. But, he loved Karen. He was as silent as Thomas was talkative.

"I think I am getting the idea. Shall I not know about his terror of pussies?" Zach said, smiling suddenly with a gleam in his eyes that can only be described as evil, which was in fact just mischievous glee. That little troublemaker was a sidekick to Karen, and Jenny was a sidekick to him. Which goes to say that the youngest shall lead the oldest. For Jen and Zach were only three months apart in age (Jenny was born in January) and Karen was a year younger.

"Here he comes! I shall leave! Goody-bye, my little baby. I fear you shall get hurt," here, the Empress kissed Mr. Thom-Thom on the head, to which a purr was rewarded. Then the fleeing feet of the girl was seen, but unheard as she was wearing slippers in regard to her combat uniform.

"Good morning, Zach," came from the haughty chest of Senator Brinxin. King Zachary was mad, for that's what Senator Brinxin should have addressed him as, as well has he hadn't even acknowledged the Queen Jennifer.

"Senator, I am shocked and annoyed by your lack of authority. Number one: you addressed me first, skipping over my lady cousin. Number two: you did not call me King Zachary, which is the way you are supposed to address me. Tut, Tut. I am disappointed," here Zach turned as if to leave, then picked up Mr. Thomas. Murmuring words of love and encouragement, Zach stroked the cat and held him in his arms. The new Queen kissed his little orange head, and then walked to look out the
window, giggling slightly. The senator took that as a sign of flirtation, and looked at the girl six years younger than him with interest. He liked her looks, she was known as a raving beauty. But her lack of dress was something he didn't like. Also, he noticed she seemed to like cats. He would cure her . . .

"Ahh!!!!!!!!! Get him off! I hate cats! Help! Murder! Murder! Sniper!"

The lasses looked at him coolly. Pressing the “false alarm” button on their comlinks, they motioned for the lads to do the same. After that, they just smiled, and fluttered around their new playmate Jennifer.
