WORTH,WILLIAM ERNEST- 81, Boylston,
died January 25, 1997,in St. Martha's Regional Hospital, Antigonish.
Born in Guysborough, he was a son of the late Patrick and Mary Alice(Pelley)Worth.
He was self- employed in the Forestry Industry
and also was involved in the Christmas tree industry.
He was a member of Christ Anglican Church, Guysborough.
He served overseas during the Second World War
with the 87-88 Field Battery,RCA.
He was discharged with the rank of sergeant major.
He was an active member of both federal and provincial liberal associations
and served as president of the East Guysborough Liberal Association.
He was a former Guys. Municipal councillor.
He was an avid card player and sportsman.
He was instrumental in the formation of the Belmont Golf Course.
Surviving are his wife, the former Cynthia Bennett,
daughters; Phyllis(Mrs.Michael Frazier), Warham,Mass;
Debbie(Mrs.George Bowles), Pomquet River;
Beverley (Mrs. Gary Simpson), Dawn(Mrs.Donald Grant},Manchester;
Bonnie(Mrs.Darrell Grant), Boylston; Shirley Worth (Mrs.Michael Currie),
Port Hawkwsbury; sons, Sandy(Cathy),Moncton,N.B.;
Doug ,Boylston; Bobby(Vicki),Newmarket,Ont;
stepchildren,Dr.Allison Wright, Louise Hall, Antigonish;
Stephanie Hall,New Glasgow;Phillip Hall, Roachvale;
24 grandchildren,4 step grandchildren; sisters,Dorothy Worth, Boylston;
Marjorie Worth, Ontario; brother, Henry,Giants Lake.
He was predeceased by sisters, Alice, Hazel, Mae; brothers, Patrick,
John, Edward, Lesley, Joseph, Ernest.
Visitation 7-9pm taday and 2-4 and 7-9pm Tuesday
in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Guysborough, Rev. Peter MacRae officiating,
assissted by Rev.Bill Ford. Internment will be
in Evergreen Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Guys. Memorial Hospital
or to the charity of one's choice.
