Grant, Marion E. –
a memorial service for the late Marion Elizabeth Grant, 91, of Halifax,
formerly of Guysborough, will take place at a later date
in First Baptist Church, Halifax.
Burial will follow in Guysborough.
Mrs. Grant died January 31, 1995, at home.
The body was cremated.
Born in Sherbrooke, Guysborough County,
she was a daughter of the late John and Ella (Sinclair) MacLean.
She graduated from the former Provincial Normal College,
Truro, in 1922 and taught school in Montreal.
She worked for 20 years at the Guysborough Post Office
and was a volunteer with the Red Cross for many years.
She is survived by a daughter, Joan McQuinn, Halifax;
a son, Dr. Harold, Victoria, B.C.;
two sisters, Min Cameron, Sherbrooke; and Kaye Armstrong, Halifax;
a brother, Huntley, British Columbia; seven grandchildren;
five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Laurier C.;
two sisters, Emma Starr and Winnifred MacCulloch and a brother, Scott.
