Malone, Laura Edith – 78, Tor Bay, Guysborough County, died February 1, 1997, in QEII Health Sciences Centre, VG Site, Halifax. Born at Tor Bay Point, Guysborough County, she was a daughter of the late Havelock P. Webber and Margaret) Peart (Webber) Gammon. She was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd, Tor Bay. A retired cook, she had worked for John Doyle Fisheries in Lismore and Judique, as well as Eastern Shore Fisheries, Larry’s River. Surviving are her husband, Herbert Franklin Malone; son, Hughie Gammon, Tor Bay; daughters, Clara (Mrs. Walter Gillie), Pine Tree, Pictou County; Lyndia Gillie, Guysborough; Diane (Mrs. Bennett Sangster), Chezzetcook; sisters, Genesta (Mrs. Douglas Aikens), Cooks Cove; Shirley (Mrs. Keith Luddington), Elsie (Mrs. Charles Sangster), both of New Harbour; grandsons, Kelly Sangster, Derek Gillie, Timothy Sangster and Daniel Sangster; granddaughter, Sharon Gillie. She was predeceased by her first husband, Warren Gammon; brother, Lindsay Webber; sister, Evelyn Munroe. Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today, funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, both in the Church of the Good Shepherd, Tor Bay. Rev. James Spear officiating.
