Nickerson, Klissy Viola – 74, Highcrest Sherbrooke Nursing Home, Sherbrooke, formerly of Goldboro, Guysborough County, died March 22, 1999, in the home. Born in Dorts Cove, Guysborough County, she was a daughter of the late Levi and Hattie (Dort) Dort. A lifelong resident of Guysborough County, she was a housewife and devoted grandmother. She was also an avid bingo player. Surviving are sons, Lloyd, New Harbour; Donald, Porter’s Lake; David, Drumhead; daughter Christina (Mrs. Clyde Smith), Goldboro; brothers, Harvey, Peas Brook; George, Glace Bay; sister, Jessie Dort, Guysborough; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Bartlett Ainsley Nickerson; son, Eugene; daughter, Barbara; sisters, Jennie, Clara, Charity. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in G.W. Giffin Funeral Home, Country Harbour. Funeral 2 p.m. Wednesday in New Harbour United Baptist Church, Rev. Chuck Mosley officiating. Burial in Riverside Cemetery, New Harbour.
