Funeral
Mrs. Lorinda Crooks

CODDLES HARBOUR, June 4 -
Our community was again saddened on Friday June 23,
when Mrs. Lorinda (Conrad) Crooks, widow of the late John H. Crooks,
passed peacefully away in her sleep.

She was 79 years old on June 6,
and was born at Voglar's Cove, Lunenburg Co.
She had lived here all her married life,
with her husband predeceasing her three years ago.

Surviving are three sisters, Jennie, Mrs. Reid MacKenzie,
Glace Bay; Mrs. Beatrice Lahey, Louisburg;
Emma, Mrs. J. Gillis, East Bay; also a large number of nephews and nieces.
A brother, Morris, predeceased her some years ago.

Rindie, as she was so often called,
was of a pleasant disposition, and had a jolly word for everyone.

The funeral service was held from her home on Sunday
at 2 p.m., service conducted by Rev. John Benson, assisted by Rev. Robert Currie.

Hymns sung were "Just Inside the Eastern Gate"
and "Out of My Bondage." A duet, "Where We'll Never Grow Old",
was rendered by Mrs. Eddie Willet and Mrs. Seldon Burke.

Pallbearers were Alden Pinkham, Vince and Sandy Crooks,
Ross Childs, Preston Pinkham and Clinton Sponagle.

Interment in Riverside Cemetery, New Harbour.
