JEWELL, Ira Gordon - 76,
Sunnyville, Guysborough Co., died October 1, 1997,
in Guysborough Memorial Hospital.
Born in Amherst, he was a son of the late
David Abner and Edith Blanch (Jordan) Jewell.
He was a member of Sunnyville
United Baptist Church
and was a deacon for 34 years. He was a member of
the
African Baptist Association. He was a veteran of the Second World War.
Surviving are stepdaughters, Muriel, Diane, Dartmouth; stepsons,
Bernard,
Sunnyville; Ronald, Neil, Brampton, Ont.;
brother, Clifford, New Brunswick;
11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife, the
former Anne Mae Byard;
brothers, Aubrey, Raymond. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m.
today and Friday,
funeral 2 p.m. Saturday, all in Sunnyville United Baptist
Church,
Pastor Norman Elms officiating. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery,
Guysborough.
Donations to Sunnyville United Baptist Church.
