Canso, Dec. 2 --
There passed away at the residence of his son,
on Monday, November 24th,
Thomas Lukeman, one of the oldest residents
of the district, in his 89th year.
Thomas Lukeman was born in Black Point, Fox Island,
89 years ago, and for the past twenty years
has made his home with his son, Captain James Lukeman, Hazel Hill.
Mr. Lukeman had been ailing for the past three months,
but was only confined to his bed nine days when the end came.
Funeral was conducted from the Star of the Sea Church
on Wednesday morning, Rev. A.P. Porrier officiating.
The late Thomas Lukeman is survived by one daughter,
Mrs. Augustus Hamor, residing in Rockland, Maine
and one son, James Lukeman, Hazel Hill,
also a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren,
to all of whom the Breeze extends its sympathy.
