Simpson, Douglas Robie – 68
Manchester, Guysborough County,
died April 30, 1993, at home.
Born in Manchester, he was a son of
the late Robie and Marguerite (MacMaster) Simpson.
He was a retired heavy equipment operator,
a veteran of the Second World War;
he was a recipient of the
Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp.
He is survived by his wife,
the former Bessie Pyle; five daughters,
Gale (Mrs. John Meagher), Pirates Harbour;
Geraldine (Mrs. Grant Hayden), Manchester;
Sharlene (Mrs. Norman Stark), Port Hawkesbury;
Marilyn (Mrs. Brian Pettipas), St. Francis Harbour;
Carol, at home; son, Robert, at home;
two brothers, Eugene, Sidney, both of Boylston;
six grandchildren. Funeral will be
2 p.m. today in Boylston Baptist Church,
Rev. Stewart McLearn officiating. Burial will be
in United Church Cemetery, Boylston.
Family flowers only. Donations may be made to
Guysborough Memorial Hospital or Heart and Stroke
Foundation of Nova Scotia. Arrangements under
the direction of Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Guysborough.
