Parker Giffin Dies

91, Goldboro, Guysborough Co died December 25, 1994, at home.
Born in Goldboro, he was a son of Annie Laurie Giffin.
He was a lifelong resident of Goldboro.
He was a member of the Goldboro United Baptist Church
and a former employee of S.R. Giffins and Sons Ltd, Goldboro.
In 1936 he began working with a local funeral director
in Goldboro and in 1942 he purchased the business
which he continued to operate until his retirement in 1975.
In conjuction with his funeral business, he also
operated an ambulance service in the area from 1951-1975.
Surviving are sons, Aubery, Antigonish; Oland, Goldboro; Robert,
Halifax; Wayne, Country Harbour; daughters, Dorothy (Mrs. Ralph Whittier),
Westville; Irene (Mrs. Edmond Tremblett), New Glasgow; Reta Giffin;
Donalda (Mrs. Carman Davidson), Antigonish; half sister Vivian MacLean, Antigonish;
15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife,
the former Lillian McArthur; half brother Sydney Silver; stepfather,
John Fred Silver; grandson, Darren Giffin. Visitation will be
2-4, 7-9 p.m. today and Wednesday in G.W. Giffin Funeral Home, Country Harbour.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Goldboro United Baptist Church,
Rev. Lola Mather- Dyer officiating. Burial in
Bay View Cemetery, Goldboro. Family flowers only.

St Martha's Home Health Care or any charity.
