Dort, Alice Maude
89, Dort’s Cove died June 4,1993,
in St Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish.
Born in Sandy Cove, Guysborough County, she was a daughter of
the late Thomas and Ida (Spanks) Dort.
She was a member of St Michael’s Church (ACW),
Dort’s Cove and St James Church (ACW),
Half Way Cove. She is survived by her companion,
Cecil Dort; seven daughters, Hazel Richard, Guysborough;
Ruby (Mrs. Avard Luddington),Stellarton; Minnie Jamieson,
Violet (Mrs. George Bardell), both of Dort’s Cove; Rita
(Mrs. Gary McGuire), Lower Sackville; Mable (Mrs. Don Bond), Kearney Lake;
Sylvia (Mrs. Sylvester Jamieson), Peasbrook; two sons, Wilbur,
Dort’s Cove; Aubrey, Cook’s Cove; 20 grandchildren;
30 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Lewis;
son Fred; Brother Wilfred; grandson Leon Jamieson.
Visitation will be 11a.m. To 1:30 p.m. today in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home,
Guysborough. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. today
in St James Anglican Church, Half Way Cove,
Rev. Paul Wilkie officiating, assisted by Rev. Peter McRae.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Family flowers only. Donations may be made to
Canadian Diabetes Association or Canadian Cancer Society.
