SANGSTER,ARCHIE ARNOLD - 76,
New Harbour, Guys.Co., died December 29,1997,
in St. Martha's Regional Hospital, Antigonish.
Born in New Harbour, he was a son of the late
Frederick Roy and Lena Mae(Nickerson)Sangster.
He was a retired commercial fisherman and laborer.
He was also a veteran of the Second World War,
having served overseas in Europe with the Cape Breton Highlanders Regiment.
As well, he was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 117,
Torbay.Surviving are his wife, Hilda(Peart)(Webber)Sangster;
sons, Ronald(Jeanie), Dutch Settlement; Kelvin(Lana),
Lantz; Merlyn(Donna), New Harbour; stepsons,
Harry Webber(Claire), Raymond Webber(Beverly), Tor Bay;
stepdaughter, Judy(Webber(Hayne)(Clyde), Tor Bay; brother, Clark, Edmonton, Alta.;
sisters, Lettie Sangster, Guys., 8 grandchildren;
10 step grandchildren; 3 step great grandchildren;
several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by
his first wife,the former Elsie Lawson;
stepson,Peter Webber; brothers, Oard, Bethel, Chester, Truman; sister, Catherine in infancy.
Visitation will be 7-9pm today, 2-4,7-9pm Thursday, funeral service
will be 2pm, Friday, both in New Harbour United Baptist Church,
Rev. Jim Speer officiating. Family flowers only.
Memorial donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society.
Arrangements entrusted to G.W. Giffin Funeral Home, Country Harbour.
